Community Involvement

aTTY PIC

Community involvement is a priority and John has spent countless hours leading and participating in various alumni activities at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and is an enthusiastic supporter of the University. He is the proud holder of a UNCG license plate and encourages all Spartans throughout North Carolina to  drive with pride and purchase a plate.  UNCG license tag

For several years John chaired the Fam Jam Planning Committee which coordinated UNCG's Black Alumni Reunion known as "Fam Jam". John was a co-chair of the committee responsible for developing the Pamela A. Wilson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Take the time to learn about some of the many ways you can stay connected to UNCG.

Each month he donates his time to the Attorney Hotline at the Women's Resource Center in Greensboro. He has participated in the annual Wade Edwards High School Mock Trial Competition, a statewide program for high school students which is organized by the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. John also has participated in the North Carolina Bar Association's Public Service Day in which he provided free legal information to dozens of phone callers in the Greater Greensboro area.

In his spare time John enjoys leisure activities such as quality time with family and friends, travel, exercise, golf, softball, good food, good music, and creating artwork. John is a huge sports fan and roots for the following teams: Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Rangers, Washington Nationals, UNC Tar Heels, New Bern Bears, and, last but definitely not least, the UNCG Spartans.
