Extensions, Closures, and Waivers at NCDMV

On Behalf of | Jul 8, 2020 | COVID-19 |

Before you make the trek down to your local North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles office, be sure to check the DMV website for office closures and reduced hours.  Additionally, the DMV is providing waivers of road tests for some people seeking a limited provisional license.  One very helpful and far-reaching DMV program is a five-month extension on renewal of certain credentials (ex: drivers licenses, vehicle registrations, CDL renewals) that expire on or after March 1 to July 30, 2020.

You should also see if you can conduct your NCDMV business online and avoid the trip altogether.  For more information on extensions, closures, and waivers visit the NCDMV website.  And, if you do go to NCDMV, maintain social distancing and wear a mask.  We are all in this together.  Remain well.
